Annual 67th Drama Extravaganza

Trecastle Y.F.C. made quite an impact upon the Annual 67th Drama Extravaganza during the week of the 3rd February 2014. The main event was "Circus Wars" which was expertly written by Shelley Davies and starred all the kids in the village who attend Y.F.C. The sets on the stage were superb, as was the singing, dancing, and acting. It had everything within the story line..Humour, Drama, Intrigue, Suspense, but more importantly fun and a team spirit that overflowed around the auditorium. The adjudicators experience the joy of taking part in shows when they see Trecastle on stage! It isn`t always about winning, but it`s always great to receive just praise and reward. Everybody likes Trecastle shows, and they usually go home feeling a warm glow from Trecastle`s productions. People expect to have a tear in their eye, either from laughing of because there are sad moments thrown into the show. All the cast were superb, and all the cast were important. The younger members members of the cast smiled their way through all their singing, acting and dancing routines. They were amazing! Steffan Davies and Josie Howells were both nominated for Best Actor and Best actress over the weeks entertainment, and Josie eventually received her award on the 19th February for Best Actress 2014.
Trecastle also competed in two Senior One Plus Dramas. The first called Cider, Lager, Beer starring Carwyn Pugh, Cerys Lewis, Eve Jones, Lowri Davies, Geraint Workman and Keiran Elliott had the audience laughing well as son as the curtains were raised. It was well performed and was well packed with "one liners"
Trecastle were on again on Monday night with Josie Howells singing a solo. She chose "At Last" by Etta James and was sung expertly and faultlessly, and this was enough to be selected by the adjudicator as Best Female Performer in 2014.
Trecastle Y.F.C. were back on stage on Friday Night with "Down in the Jungle" written by Steffan Davies. Steff also performed in the Junior One Plus drama with Rhodri Workman. These two talented performers work very well together and didn`t disappoint the audience with their on stage talents.
Thanks must go to Shelley Davies, Joanne Davies, Julie Elliott, Caroline Morgan, Eirlys Pugh, Rob Davies, Caerwyn Davies for all the work they did backstage. Choreography was done by Eve Jones. Stage Set by Lyn Davies, Julie Howells and Dave Howells and Make up by Lynette Price and Lighting by Terry Griffiths.
"Circus Wars" will be staged in the Village Hall on the 2nd March. This is an ideal opportunity to either see it again or come and be entertained for the evening. This is not one circus coming to town ...It`s two Circus`s coming to town. The costumes scenry, singing and dancing is spectacular. Miss it at your peril.
