Thu, 1 Jan 2015 12:00 am

2015. During next year there is a celebration of the Battle of Agincourt. It will be 600 years since the battle. The Welsh archers reputedly made a massive impact on the outcome of the battle with the use of their longbows. There will be a rolling agenda for the year of celebration with mock battles, archery courses and demonstrations along the route that the army took when they left Britain for battle. There was certainly a coming together at Tretower Court, and this will be a place where interesting exhibitions and demonstrations will take place. Incidentally, about 8- 10 archers came from this area and are written into the list of men who took up arms. Some went on to be knighted on the battlefield. Keep a check on this website for news of of events as they become known. The whole event is called Agincourt600, and some information can be found on the website of this name.
