Powys Public Transportation Consultation 2015

Tue, 2 Jun 2015 5:27 pm

Entry by Community Group: Community Council

Public transport provision in Powys will be changing from November 2015. Why? Austerity measures have put a significant squeeze on public sector spending across the country. As a result, Powys’s budget from the Welsh Government for 2015/16 is around 4% less which means we need to reduce our annual spending by more than £11m to balance the books.

Powys are having consultation on draft proposals for public transport.  In both new options the bus from Brecon to Llandovery has been removed.

You can find out more on the Powys Government Website: http://www.powys.gov.uk/en/corporate/find-out-about-consultations-in-powys/public-transport-consultation/
